Motel Information for Apex Clinic----

There are a number of "Chain" type hotel/motels to choose from in Cornwall, all
around 30-35 minutes drive from the clinic.
We have chosen a few of the smaller "Mom & Pop" motels for your consideration
though because the rates were considerably better than even the group rates at
the chains and the locations are the closest we could get to the clinic.  You
are welcome of course to stay where you like, but I have gone to see some of
the smaller places and have listed 4 of them with a brief description and
pricing below.

I've listed the following places in order of what I would choose if I were
staying there. Not by price or location, those are included in the descriptions.  Most of these
owners are willing to work with us, if we book a certain number of rooms they
will apply a discount.  It all depends on the numbers, so I ask that if you
choose one of the places on this list please email me at mdb123@sympatico.ca
and let me know.  This way I will have my own list of numbers and can go back
to them to try to get you a better price.  No promises, it all depends on the
choices that everyone make.

**First - because of location and renovations
The Long Sault Motel: (Long Sault) - About 18 minutes (Google maps)
http://www.longsaultmotel.com/accom.htm

The location is the best one and the link above shows regular rates as well as
the number of rooms available, they are limited.  They are open and have been
contacted!

I have been in contact with them and as mentioned in the list they are open and will have most of the rooms finished (renovated) by our dates. I will be visiting on Wednesday.

Here is what they are offering for rates:

We are at present on our winter rates which are already very low so leave little room to move. The winter rates are $50.00 for a regular and $60.00 for a deluxe room. Based on a two night booking we can help a little. Two nights in a regular room would be $90.00 and two nights in a deluxe room $105.00 If people wanted one night only it would be the regular winter rate."

Book early, this is a small motel and the rooms will fill up fast.

I'm told that email is the best way to reserve your room as they have been having some difficulty with their phone lines since all of the snow fell.

**Second - larger rooms, fairly recently renovated, location
Fairview Inn: (Cornwall - Hwy 2 west) - About 23 minutes (Google maps)
http://www.ammjays.com/index_files/Page1137.htm
The rooms are larger than I expected (the largest of the ones on this list),
have a gas fireplace, and clean.
He has 4 double rooms, 6 single, and 2 king with Jacuzzi, the king room is quite
large.  The King is $119 (hint: if we book enough of the rooms this price will
be lower),  the double is $69.  The rooms I saw were smoking rooms and did not
have any really strong odor.

**Third - medium sized rooms, location
Martin's Inn: (Cornwall - Hwy 2 west) - About 23 minutes (Google maps)
(613) 933-6897 Fax: (613)933-2743
Doesn't have a website.  Nice rooms, clean and a decent size, perhaps not as
newly renovated as the other two but nice enough.  Smaller than @ Fairview but
bigger than The Long Sault.  No noticeable odor.
Double $55 + tax.  She has 7 double rooms and 9 Queen rooms, probably couldn't
give us all of them but is willing to do what she can.

**Fourth - location
The Lion Motel: (Long Sault) - About 19 minutes (Google maps)
http://www.lionmotel.com/
The rooms are tiny which is ok, they are clean, but they do look old.
The decor has painted cinder block walls, kind of like a classroom, not overly
bright (probably not an issue at night).  Like I say it was clean but looked
old.
If folks aren't picky, the regular rates are $60, if we book 10 rooms he will
give us $45. He has a max of 16 rooms to rent out.
Some of those rooms are smoking rooms and smelled like it.  The non smoking
rooms didn't have any particular odor, just didn't "feel" fresh.
The location is great if you want to shave a few minutes off of the drive to the
clinic.

If you need help choosing something other than what is here, I'd be happy to
help, keep in mind that there is a hockey tournament in Cornwall that weekend.
These smaller places don't often see those folks, so might be a little quieter.
I have plotted most of these on Google maps, some addresses don't land in
the right spot because of the rural postal code, email me and I can send you
driving directions from the room to the clinic.
