been trained to assess horse health. Their job is to make sure your
horse is fit to continue.

Ride and Tie is race that involves a team of 3; 2 riders and 1
horse. Everyone sets out together with one person riding and the
other running. The rider goes ahead, ties the horse and starts running
while the second rider/runner finds the horse, gets on and leapfrogs
the current runner to get ahead, then ties the horse so the team
member can repeat the process. Riders must switch at least twice
during an event. This event is a qualifying one for the 2010 Canadian
Distance Championships.
