 Welcome:~

The Seaway Valley AHA is a proud member organization Of the Arabian Horse Association and AHA Region 18

Our ride flyer is up on the event board, but we have some more details on folks who will be presenting at the Stormont Training Ride hosted by Seaway Valley Arabian Horse Association (www.seawayvalleyarab.com).

Monitoring your Horse's Heart Rate:

Wendy McCoubrey and Lynda Townsend will be joining us to do show-and-tell with Polar heart rate monitors.  Polar has some exciting new equipment and Wendy has kindly offered to to talk about the importance of monitoring your horse's heart rate, to show the new equipment to us, and to let folks try them out.

Equestrian Fitness:

After Christoph Shork made such a big deal about equestrian fitness at the APEX clinic, we thought we would be remiss if we didn't include some great information on how to keep you, the rider, as fit as your horse.  Heather Sansom of Equifitt will be joining us all day on Saturday and giving a talk on key points of equestrian fitness during the dinner on Saturday night.

Heather is offering two specials specifically for the training ride.  First, Heather is offering a mini-clinic rider assessment.  The special includes mounted and unmounted posture, alignment, bio-mechanic and flexibility assessment.  Individuals receive clinician’s assessment notes and specific exercise recommendations to take home.  The mini-assessment takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Cost for this is assessment is $20 (book in advance to ensure your assessment time).  Heather will also be offering ride-day assisted stretching. Relaxation therapy for your muscles, ligaments and joints.  Techniques are used to achieve deep muscle relaxation while improving your flexibility and range of motion in a pain-free treatment. 10 minutes for $10.  For more information, please see the SVAHA website to see Heather's Ride Day specials and please also visit Heather's website to find out more information on her equestrian fitness evaluations and programmes.  (www.equifitt.com )
